The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Group

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.

The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
  • The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group access locations they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.

What’s Next?

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the players to form the Seekers and Planners parties.

Fans can anticipate learning which players will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
